After a wonderful run at Wave Maker Magazine (with which he remained from August 2012 through to the publication’s untimely end in May 2014), Ryan founded Replicant Ears to continue his space cadet adventure through the realm of forward-thinking music!

Ryan spends a great deal of his time under troll bridges shaking his fist and hollering obscenities at the mainstream, but occasionally finds himself on the side of a pop act that the underground has disowned. A schizoid fan for the 21st century?

Chalk it up to being born in the early eighties and being raised on prog-acts-gone-pop, revelling in the era of Seattle Sound, and performing as a vocalist and lyricist in hard rock and metal bands before finally becoming a minimalist composer.

Although he has a diverse musical taste that runs the gamut from black metal to country to most forms of jazz, Ryan’s first love will always be progressive music.

DEL CHANEY (Contributor)

Del Chaney is a self-confessed music freak and is never far away from a turntable.

He has spent the last two years not only fronting popular Irish electronic band Analogue Wave, but also dedicating his time to uncovering the best unsigned or small-independent-record-label-based artists from all over the globe in the shoegaze, dream pop, noise-rock, & post-rock genres with his blog – The Primal Music Blog.

His other arm, The Primal Radio Show, has gained considerable respect from bands and promoters alike since its conception in 2013, helping him in actively promoting a genre of music that he loves. Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Del is a keen vinyl collector, tattoo fan, & all round good guy.

SHAUNA McLARNON (Contributor)

Shauna McLarnon fronts the popular Canadian-Ukrainian duo Ummagma and provides vocals for Russia’s Sounds of Sputnik.

Moved by her interest in the heart of the indie music universe, Shauna has helped build Ear to Ear Records from the ground up and also supports other indie artists through Shameless Promotion PR. Prior to that, her continuously meeting fascinating musicians and being exposed to awesome music motivated her to write for the US-based online music webzine The Record Stache and UK blog The Sound of Confusion.

Hailing from northern Canada, Shauna has spent a good portion of the last decade in Ukraine, where she and her husband own and operate Ummagma Studio. Not a fan of dodging bullets, she is once again basing her activity out of Canada.
